Product Empties #49

Empties time again and it’s another big one so let’s get straight into it!

haircare empties daniellesbeautyblog

Haircare

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo

While I have now decided the advanced version of this dry shampoo is my favourite this is a great option too! Pricier than my usual budget dry shampoos, but leaves no white cast, absorbs easily giving me an extra day or two out of my greasy hair and actually makes it look clean. Have a backup already! See my full review here!

Schwarzkopf got2b Fresh it Up Dry Shampoo

I tend to rotate between my pricier Living Proof and the more affordable Schwarzkopf offerings. I need to use more to make my hair look less greasy but it gets me another day before I need to wash and there is no white cast! Will repurchase!

Briogeo Farewell Frizz Rosarco Milk Leave-In Conditioning Spray RRP $34 CAD*

This is a lightweight spray that helped smooth my hair and minimize frizz without weighting it down. It’s got a non-offensive scent but it doesn’t offer any heat protection and I have other leave in conditioners I prefer so it’s not a repurchase for me! See my full Briogeo review here!

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Super Moisture Shampoo

This was a nice hydrating shampoo and the scent was OK but I have other shampoos I prefer so not a repurchase for me!

JVN Nurture Hydrating Shampoo

Another nice hydrating shampoo with a nice scent but again I have other shampoos I prefer so not a repurchase for me!

JVN Nurture Hydrating Conditioner

Nice matching conditioner with the same scent as the shampoo but again, didn’t stand out to me so not a repurchase! (You might be able to tell that scent is very important to me with shampoo and conditioner!)

Bodycare

Naturium Skin-Renewing Retinol Body Lotion

No scent to this but it comes in a big bottle and works well to smooth and firm my skin! It’s got a creamy texture but rubs in well and hydrates nicely! Really enjoyed using this and would repurchase!

Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion

Not my favourite scent but it doesn’t linger and the body lotion itself is great! It contains lactic acid so gently resurfaces the skin as well as hydrating it and I see and feel an improvement in my skin texture (particularly on my arms!) after use and its way less bumpy! Would repurchase!

Palmer’s Natural Vitamin E Concentrated Cream

A great cream to have on hand for any dry spots, this wasn’t greasy but thicker than a normal moisturiser! Would repurchase in the future!

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel

Such a classic, I go through at least one of these per year! The scent is really sweet but I love it and it lasts throughout the day! Will repurchase!

Olverum The Dry Body Oil

This was really luxurious and beautifully scented of citrus. Super lightweight and didn’t feel greasy but nourished my skin! Would repurchase!

& Other Stories Miami Muse Hand Cream

Absolutely obsessed with the pink pepper scent of this! The formula is gorgeous too, lightweight, sinks in quickly and makes my hands feel so soft! Will repurchase!

Maelys B-Tight Lift & Firm Buttocks Mask RRP $70.99 CAD*

Loved this cream – it contains Pink Pepperslim to smooth the look of skin and hyaluronic acid to help with hydration and plumping. It has a warming sensation as you rub in and for about 15 minutes after but my butt always look firmer after using, feels more hydrated and my cellulite doesn’t look as noticeable! Would repurchase before a vacation if I saw it on offer!

makeup empties daniellesbeautyblog

Makeup

Urban Decay All Nighter Vitamin C Cactus Flower Water Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray RRP $48.50 CAD*

Enjoyed this makeup setting spray, I found my makeup didn’t last as long with this as my Charlotte Tilbury setting spray but this one did give my face a healthy glow and my makeup didn’t transfer. I also like the citrus scent! Have a mini backup but I wouldn’t repurchase!

NARS Light Reflecting Foundation in Gobi

Loved this foundation, it’s medium coverage and feels very lightweight on the skin. It made my skin look perfected as soon as I had just applied it but I did find it to fade slightly throughout the day albeit evenly. Despite this I loved it! Will repurchase! See my full review here!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High in Waterproof

Been through so many of these now! It works great to lengthen, separate and give volume to my lashes but I have been having some smudging under my left eye with this which is frustrating. Affordable so I have a backup already but I’m thinking I might need to make the move permanently to tubing mascaras and spend a little more for no smudging!

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC15

Hate the packaging of this because it always pumps out too much but the colour match and coverage is great! I am so glad to be finished this though as it was in my collection for a long time! Not a repurchase!

Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Sublime Perfection Blurring Under Eye Powder

Obsessed with this under eye powder it’s so perfecting and smoothing! Never looks cakey and it’s so light! This compact lasted me ages with daily use, and I will definitely repurchase! Pat McGrath used to have quite regular sales but I haven’t seen any good ones recently but that’s when I’m hoping to pick it up again! See my full review here!

Skincare

Paula’s Choice Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser

This worked well as both a first cleanse and second cleanser! It’s a cream formula containing green tea extract, glycerin and chamomile flower extract. Despite being so gentle, this removed makeup easily as well as working nicely in the morning for me, keeping my skin hydrated before my next skincare steps! Would repurchase! See my full review here!

Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser RRP $28.99 CAD*

A lovely gentle option! It contains sunflower seed oil, glycerin and oat extract and has a milky consistency and kept my skin feeling hydrated and calm! I have other cleansers I prefer so not a repurchase! See my full review here!

Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner

This toner is instantly cooling and soothing. It’s gel like and so gentle and hydrating, it’s perfect for sensitive and dry skin and my face just drinks this up! Will repurchase when I finish up a few more toners! See my full review here!

Versed Weekend Glow Brightening Solution RRP $24.99 CAD*

This contains lactic, glycolic, azelaic, and kojic acids plus Vitamin C. It’s gentle enough to use every day and helps brighten uneven skin tone and fade hyperpigmentation. It also has a fun push down mechanism to get the product out. I enjoyed it but not a repurchase for me right now! See my full review here!

NIOD Superoxide Dismustase Saccharide Mist

A cult favourite from NIOD that is a protective mist, acting against oxidative stress, water loss and inflammation of the skin. I love the fact it’s antioxidant and my skin feels so calm and hydrated with every use! I spray this over my chest area too as there is so much in the bottle! Have a backup already! Read my full NIOD review here!

Briotech Topical Skin Spray

This is hypochlorous acid spray though much cheaper than the Tower 28 one everyone raves about! It’s basically a disinfectant spray that smells a little like bleach if I’m honest but it is super gentle and helps reduce inflammation and speed up skin healing time. I loved this and it was perfect to bring to Mexico a couple of months ago to apply to sunburn too! Will repurchase!

Murad Revitalixir Recovery Serum RRP £92*

I am obsessed with the scent of this serum! It’s made up of illuminating spheres and contains a blend of niacinamide, caffeine, neuropeptide, paracress and cannabis sativa seed oil which helps smooth skin, as well as calm, depuff and hydrate. A nice serum but I have others I prefer, and it’s pricy so not a repurchase for me (it’s also gone up in price by £23 from when I did my original review on it 2 years ago)! Full Murad review here!

Biotherm Blue Retinol Serum RRP $99 CAD*

I loved this retinol serum. It contains 0.25% retinol as well as life plankton, glycerin, HA and niacinamide and worked well to smooth and even my skin tone while targeting fine lines.  I used it 2-3 times a week and the formula is creamy and doesn’t cause any sensitivity or peeling for me! Also on the pricy side but I would repurchase if I saw it on offer. Read my full Biotherm review here!

Skinceuticals CE Ferulic RRP $208*

Rounding up a few expensive serums is the most expensive of all! This one contains 15% pure Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), 1% Vitamin E (alpha tocopherol to replenish skin lipids), and 0.5% Ferulic Acid to enhance protection against environmental damage caused by free radicals that can contribute to visible signs of atmospheric aging. It helped improve signs of aging like fine lines & wrinkles and kept my skin looking bright and even as well as helping to heal marks left after spots much quicker! I love it and would repurchase if I saw it on a very good offer as it’s totally worth it! Read my full Skinceuticals review here!

Naturium Multi-Peptide Eye Cream

Really enjoyed this eye cream! It was lightweight so I used more in my AM routine and it hydrated while helping keep fine lines at bay and worked great under makeup! Would repurchase!

Verso Cleansing Balm

I used this as more of a second/morning cleanse as it felt lightweight. It cleansed my skin well and the jojoba beads were gentle. Nothing special so not a repurchase!

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream*

A great mini to take with me to Mexico too! It’s creamy and lightweight and serves as a great base for my makeup as well as hydrating my skin throughout the day! Would repurchase! See my full Dermalogica review here!

I’m From Fig Boosting Essence

Really liked this – it helped to hydrate and soften my skin. Essences are the first thing I forget to use when doing my skincare routine and I have so many at the minute this isn’t a repurchase for me right now!

Grown Alchemist Balancing Toner

A rose scented toner that didn’t leave my skin feeling tight! Enjoyed taking this on trips with me and the packaging didn’t leak but not a repurchase for me!

Medik8 C-Tetra

This was a more oil like formula than classic serum that’s citrus scented and worked well to hydrate and brighten my skin! I prefer a more classic serum formula for Vitamin C though so not a repurchase!

Sunday Riley C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum

Mini so only used for about a week and couldn’t tell if it did much but I loved the formula and would be interested in repurchasing!

REN Glow and Protect Serum

Another mini that didn’t last me long but again I prefer this type of creamier formula so would be interested in trying a full size but not a repurchase for me right now!

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream

Not my favourite Fresh product, this sort of sits on my skin and doesn’t quite hydrate it enough so not a repurchase!

Jumiso Snail Mucin 95 + Peptide Facial Essence RRP $3.50 CAD*

I took this mini on holiday though it didn’t last as long as I needed it too haha. I also have a full size I’m using right now and it’s great for adding hydration, calming and smoothing my skin! Would repurchase!

Lanolips 101 Ointment

This is one of the most nourishing, longlasting lip balms I have used! The coconut scent is pretty subtle and it’s also infused with Vitamin E, known for its antioxidant properties! This leaves me with the smoothest, flake free lips imaginable. Will repurchase! See my full Lanolips review here!

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm in Natural Mint SPF 25

Love this lip balm, it’s clear, non-sticky but stays on my lips for a long time keeping them smooth and hydrated. Love that its SPF 25 too and it was perfect for Mexico/summer! Will repurchase!

Chap Ice Beeswax Lip Balm

I got this from the oral surgeons when I got my wisdom teeth out last year and left it in my bag as an emergency lip balm then ended up loving it! It’s a mini so there’s not much in there but its super hydrating and kept my lips nourished for ages! Would repurchase!

purely inspired collagen peptides review

Miscellaneous

Purely Inspired Collagen Peptides

Have gone through quite a few of these at this stage now and despite not dissolving well it still works great for my joints! I switched brands after finishing this one but would repurchase!

As always, well done if you made it to the end! Let me know if you’ve tried any of the empties I mentioned and your thoughts!

  1. Great empties post as usual Danielle! I've been looking for a good under-eye powder to go in rotation with what I have now (it's a Chinese cosmetics brand: Judydoll), so I'll definitely check out the Pat McGrath one. Also, I really want to try Lanolips! xx

  2. I've been thinking about picking up a new shampoo and conditioner, so it's good to know that these ones weren't your favourites. I'll definitely be giving those ones a miss. Snow Fairy is such a classic, and definitely a forever repurchase. Nars do such great base products, and I am definitely very interested in that foundation! Great empties as always xx

  5. I'm also struggling to find a replacement for the Maybelline Sky High mascara - it works well for my lashes most of the time, but sometimes I feel like I sometimes end up with a (somehow) half-empty pack, I don't know what happens!
And I have to try the Lush Cosmetics shower gel! <3

  8. You have finished quite a lot of products! I tried a travel size of the Living Proof Dry Shampoo, and it did make my hair less oily, but I never repurchased it because of the price. Also, I LOVE the Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel, and I do like the regular Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, so I am curious about the Vitamin C Cactus Flower Water version.
